ELIGIBILITY

ELIGIBILITY
  • Over 5 years of professional work experience in a leadership position within the social sector (at executive/management level)
  • Clear and impactful vision to make positive social change in Japan
  • Strong commitment to making positive social change in Japan
  • Action-oriented mind
  • Strong interest in learning about U.S. social sector leadership and management to foster a global mindset
  • Emotional maturity and ability to be a team player
  • Based in Japan and deeply rooted in the local community
  • Strong communication skills in English (abilities to actively engage in discussion and to write a multi-page document are required)
  • Willingness and commitment to being a role model for other women in Japan
  • Commitment to working with other JWLI alumni / being part of the JWLI Ecosystem and empowering other women leaders

COST

COST Fellows will be provided with :
  • Housing in the Boston area during the program
  • Stipend to partially cover meals and transportation expenses during the program in Boston, up to a specified limit
  • Tuition for the leadership program at Babson College
Fellows are responsible for :
  • Transportation (and lodging, if necessary) for an interview, an orientation, a mentor kickoff meeting in Tokyo, a post-program pitch event in Tokyo
  • Round-trip international airfares to and from Boston
  • A medical coverage abroad or a travel health insurance

  • An essay in English (maximum 600 words typed, maximum two pages, and include name and submission date at the top right on all pages)addressing the questions below. Applicants must address the questions below. Question 2 is asking applicants' ideas for Action Plans and that is what the selection committee is most interested in learning about.
    1. Why are you applying to JWLI Boston? And what do you want to learn from JWLI Boston? (Max 200 words)
    2. What is the social issue you want to tackle? How would you like to tackle the social issue? Explain your plan and the change you want to bring as specific as possible. (Max 400 words)
