SAMPLE APPLICATION PROCESS
ELIGIBILITY
- Over 5 years of professional work experience in a leadership position within the social sector (at executive/management level)
- Clear and impactful vision to make positive social change in Japan
- Strong commitment to making positive social change in Japan
- Action-oriented mind
- Strong interest in learning about U.S. social sector leadership and management to foster a global mindset
- Emotional maturity and ability to be a team player
- Based in Japan and deeply rooted in the local community
- Strong communication skills in English (abilities to actively engage in discussion and to write a multi-page document are required)
- Willingness and commitment to being a role model for other women in Japan
- Commitment to working with other JWLI alumni / being part of the JWLI Ecosystem and empowering other women leaders
COST
- Housing in the Boston area during the program
- Stipend to partially cover meals and transportation expenses during the program in Boston, up to a specified limit
- Tuition for the leadership program at Babson College
- Transportation (and lodging, if necessary) for an interview, an orientation, a mentor kickoff meeting in Tokyo, a post-program pitch event in Tokyo
- Round-trip international airfares to and from Boston
- A medical coverage abroad or a travel health insurance

Question 2 is asking applicants' ideas for Action Plans and that is what the selection committee is most interested in learning about.
